The old African proverb is true. It does take a community of people coming together to provide advice, support and keep a child down the right path. However, you don't NEED a village to raise a child. My village is a collective of quite a few strong, intelligent, and highly opinionated individuals that want nothing less than the best for my child. That being said, there are times when the village is wrong. Wrong how?I don't mean wrong in the sense that the advice incorrect. I mean wrong for my family or possibly outdated advice from village elders...We all have the village idiot but for the sake of staying on topic I will save that for another blog.
